March 14th, 2008 by finatams

Dear IFMSA friends and medical collagues,

I hope you have already know that we are running a project named Global Survey on Pediatric Curricula (GSPC) which is a survey between IFMSA and CAH Dept of WHO. For that, we need  your help to promote this survey in your home country and encourage medical students who had finished pediatric clerkship to participate. The On-line survey can be accessed through :

http://tools. ifmsa.org/ surveys/survey. php?sid=39
Username: pediatrics

Password: pediatrics

REMEMBER : "We set a parameter that this project is considered successful if there are more than 50% of 166 and each countries represent more than 50 % total medical schools available in their countries and 3 questionnaires per LC. That’s why we really need your participation in this big survey. The deadline is April 15, 2008. Please complete the questionnaire before that time." (WE NEED at least 1849 faculties x 50% x 50% x 3 = 1387 respondents in 4 weeks remaining!) WE ARE GLAD IF WE COULD ACHIEVE MORE!! Please also we don’t limit to 3 medical students per each faculty!!

!!!!THIS SURVEY WON’T BE SUCCESS WITHOUT YOUR PARTICIPATION! !!!

Thanks for your attention, and thank you in advance for your cooperation. Bringing together our efforts we can do this.

Expecting something changes my future

February 3rd, 2008 by finatams

I am thinking about my next career plan after my graduation right now. Actually it is 5 months left before my graduation if I graduated on time. Well, I am thingking also to have 3 months off from my clinical rotation but I am not sure about it. I am expecting something really big that will affect my future much. What on earth will it be?

I still remember of someone said to me that "It is not a time for doubt but I have to try my best to get what I want." Yes, it is true. I have done some steps forward and expecting the results. I know it is really difficult to gain but you do not know what you can achieve if you do not try it first. Well, I am expecting the best for me, my future and also my next career plan.

Being a doctor is really a dream for me which will become true for the next 5 months (or will be the next 8 months if I am taking days off from my clinical rotation). My family wants me come home to be a GP in my hometown. But I do not know, I want to try something new first before coming home. Well, Let’s see what I can achieve!

Keep the good work, Gal! My Allah listen to my pray. AMEEN

Lebaran…Start to Make Something New in the Next One Year

October 19th, 2007 by finatams

It’s been a while since my last post. I have passed long days, weeks and even months.
I have passed some rotations in my clinical station and now starting something new as I am now taking the responsibility to be New Project Coordinator.

Thinking of my clinical rotation, I have passed the Psychiatric, ENT and DV station.
I will be in my PH station by Next Monday. And Guess what!!! My friends asked me to the leader for this small station. Actually, it is without my consent before they did it. But, whatever…If I rejected that request, they still want me to be. Yeah never mind. After completing my PH station, I still have my intern in K3M, Internal Medicine, ObGsyn and Opthalmology Dept. It will be finished by the end of June 2008, if I won’t skip any of those departments.

Taking the responsibility as Project Coordinator of IFMSA-WHO in Pediatric Survey will give me some consequences in advance. I have to conduct the survey, fortunately I have the team who will help me in case I need their help to conduct this survey. This position will give me more chances to study about research and publishing my international journal. The most chance is I will get my intern in WHO Head Quarter in Geneva, of course if I can afford all the expenses to go there. Hopefully, I am lucky so I can go there!!!

After this lebaran, I promise my self that I will fight for my future, will fight to get what I want no matter what the obstacles are. I am longing to have what I really want right now will become true in the next one year. HOPE ALLAH WILL BLESS ME ON MY PLAN!!! AMIN.

The wheels are spinning…

April 7th, 2007 by finatams

If I think about what happened to me lately, I felt that I am now in the deep down the earth. I felt that it is my great failure. I fetl that I don’t have good jod, I did my regular time in hospital and that’s all. Nothing is challenging. For me I used to do so many task during one time, and I did them properly. Right now, I felt that my quality is decreased.
Let me say straight forward : Beside my hectic work in hospital which sometimes made me bored because of regular work, I don’t have a job that satisfy me with kinds of hectic work. I am only a freelance in helping people who wants to translate any article in english. On the other hand, during my few months ago, I am enjoying my activity in organization, work and also study. Although I don’t get satisfiying result on my GPA but there is something inside that satisfy me. It is a self satisfaction that you can work with other, helping them, and create something that useful for people around you, make my life cherish every day.
I really missed that time…..Now, I felt that I lost manything… I don’t know why but I felt an empty space. The wheels are spinning. Sometimes you are in the top but somehow it will a turn for you to be in the bottom. Like I am now.

But, I have to wake up. Achieve what I want to achieve. catch anything I want..family, friends..and please my self!!!!

P.S wrote in a silent sunday.

Surgery…study or you become a fool

February 20th, 2007 by finatams

Well, it’s been a long time since my last post. I have been very hectic in my last station which were Medical Phorensic and Radiology Station. Now, I have been enrolling in my surgery station for the second week of 10th week completion. I find it interesting here in the surgery dept but I should study harder than before. I have realized that I have forgotten most of the knowledge during the pre-clinical year. And now (clinical rotation-red) is the time to apply the knowledge I got during those years. So, what do you think I would apply to if I have forgotten that kind of stuffs???

Yeah, I should study more and more than the other. But it is the consequence I had to do for the days I skipped during the pre-clinical year and also the thought in the future that I am the one who responsible for my patient not the other. So, I should be ready for everything, increase my knowledge,my clinical skills, my clinical reasoning and…more and more practice…if I don’t, I will become a fool!!!
